This site is for you, the community of
people living, working and conducting business in the Ports of
Los Angeles and Long Beach.
There are so many issues that face our
harbor on a daily basis and our hope at LAPortWatch.com and
LBPortWatch.com is that we can bring these matters to you in a
clear and articulate forum without
bias.
We serve every constituency of people and
business in and around the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach,
without prejudice; from environmental issues to container
movement, we cover it all.
The Ports of Los Angeles & Long Beach
hope to begin a massive build over coming years and each
port’s administration has promised to keep environmental
impacts to a minimum through the ‘Ports Clean Air Action
Plan.’ Of course, successfully balancing development and
community interests works best when people have the facts and
at LAPortWatch we are constantly striving to bring you the
information you need to know about these issues.
A very large number of people use this
site every single day and we hope to grow from strength to
strength over the coming years to keep you informed of each new
development well in advance. This will involve investing in new
technologies, regularly attending community meetings,
supporting our volunteers and researching the issues.
So, what is our mission? We are here to
play a role in seeing faster and more efficient freight
movement, less pollutant methods of goods transport, a cleaner
environment, greater port security balanced with appropriate
public access and an engaging waterfront!
If you have any questions or comments,
please feel free to write.
Sincerely,
Gene Kininmonth
